How UKSpend handles personal data. Last updated 20 October 2026.

Who we are

UKSpend is run by Adapt Progress Evolve Limited, registered in England and Wales, company no. 10047328, VAT GB362654684. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us about anything on this page at hello@ukspend.com.

When you visit the site

We count page views so we know which pages are used. Each view records the page, the site that sent you (on your first page only), any campaign tags in the link, a rough device type (mobile, tablet or desktop) and your country. Your browser holds a random session number for that visit only, in session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab.

We set no cookies, do not store your IP address and do not use advertising or third-party tracking. A saved light or dark theme stays in your own browser. To stop page views being counted, set analytics_opt_out to 1 in this site's local storage, or block requests to supabase.co.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: running and improving a free public site. We keep these records while they are useful for understanding how the site is used. They cannot identify you.

People named in the data

The spending figures come from files councils publish under the Local Government Transparency Code 2015, reused under the Open Government Licence v3. Where a council pays a sole trader or partnership, its file can include that person's trading name. We show those names as the council published them.

Supplier ownership comes from the Companies House register of people with significant control. We show the names of people with significant control. We use their month and year of birth only to match records, and never show them. We do not show home addresses.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: making public spending easier to scrutinise, using information the law already requires to be public. If you are named and want us to review, correct or remove an entry, email hello@ukspend.com. We will reply within one month. The council or Companies House remains the source, so a correction there also reaches us on the next refresh.

If you email us

We use your email only to reply to you and keep it for as long as the conversation needs. Mail to hello@ukspend.com is delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing to our inbox.

Who processes data for us

Cloudflare hosts the site and routes our email. Supabase holds the spending database and the page-view records. Some providers are based in the United States. Where data goes outside the UK, it is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or a UK adequacy decision.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict its use or stop using it. Email hello@ukspend.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
