What UKSpend is

UKSpend (ukspend.com) is a free, independent search tool for UK local-authority spending data. English councils must publish every payment over £500 under the Local Government Transparency Code 2015 (some authorities, including the GLA, publish from £250); UKSpend ingests those scattered CSVs into one normalised database so you can search them by supplier, category and financial year without a spreadsheet. No signup, and the same data is available from a public read API under the Open Government Licence.

UKSpend is built and operated by Adapt Progress Evolve Limited (company number 10047328), founded by Jack Stovell (X · Instagram · LinkedIn). It is not a government service and is not affiliated with any council or department. It covers the United Kingdom only — it is not ukspending.com or USAspending.gov, which cover United States federal spending.
